Writing feedback is generated by AI in real time. This normally takes 10–20 seconds. Occasionally it can take longer.
Why it takes time
After you submit, your essay is sent to an AI model that evaluates it against four IELTS criteria: Task Achievement, Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range & Accuracy. Generating detailed feedback takes a few seconds.
What to do if it takes too long
- Wait up to 60 seconds. Slow responses are usually caused by high demand on the AI service.
- Do not refresh the page — you will lose your submission.
- If nothing appears after 60 seconds, the request may have failed. Try resubmitting.
Your band score appears immediately after submission. The detailed feedback loads separately a few seconds later.
